EQ (Equilization)
Equalization (EQ) is a way to tune the tonality of audio coming through a channel.
There are generally three parameters of EQ that can be adjusted:
- Frequency: the location on the audio spectrum that is being adjusted.
- Gain: allows the frequency to be cut or boosted.
- Width: selects how much width of the spectrum is being adjusted.
Most audio consoles have parametric EQ, which gives the audio engineer four zones of EQ adjustment. These zones are typically low, low mid, high mid, and high.
